I bought this macho machine to make tarpaulins for my boat. I have to cover the boat, the back seats and the front seat. The previous covers were tattered and weathered and I really need projects. fits perfectly! There are spots in the back seats where the tarpaulin gets insanely thick. There are places where the 2 inch polypropylene webbing and 3 stitches come together. So 2 layers for each tarpaulin and webbing. 6 layers and a thick webbing. This monster machine doesn't care. She eats through everything. I am impressed. Please see my photo! All this to get 2, 4, 8 and 16 layers. Things can come under your foot! As I said. It's a beast! Another big plus is that it's surprisingly easy to thread. It takes me about 60 seconds to thread it including a new bobbin. So from useful to decorative yarn and so on does not hurt about it. And all the stitching is superb! I'm not used to it, and I really don't need them, but it's great that they are. And Cons: First, I wouldn't do it if the needle could be stopped in the down position. This is very important when making complex hems on large items like I do. The 10 foot heavy intricate canvas is difficult to constantly adjust/manipulate and requires the needle to be lowered each time. The extra time and attention to needle position is very, very annoying. This is not required and the manufacturer should have provided this feature. Also the light is pretty bad. I bought an aftermarket addon but they would be easy to add. And finally, why is the neck so damn small? I would pay more for a bigger one. Not 3 times, but more. So despite my complaints 4 stars. It would be 5 if there was this needle stop function.
