We live in Northern Illinois so we get the cold and snow of winter pretty hard. I just had our central air and heating system replaced as they were over 21 years old and I was worried about having a failure of the furnace during this Winter. Decided to do the central air unit at the same time to save a few dollars on the total installation, plus the old unit used Freon which is no longer available or legal to use.My old Furnace and Central air were also Bryant brands and since they had stood up well for 21 years, I went with Bryant again but went for a bigger unit this time because the house is 3,000 square feet and I thought the old unit ran an awful lot to do the job. In the past, I always used some plastic sheets I had around the house to cover the central air unit outside during the winter. But I always seemed to have a problem with the winds we get up here blowing the top off and sometimes away so I couldn't find it. I decided to find one that was made for the purpose. My furnace contractor said that you aren't supposed to cover the whole outside unit during the winter but covering the top is okay to keep ice off the fan and fan blades and the leaves from falling inside the unit. I looked around and found this cover on Revain. My Air Conditioner is 32" square, so this particular cover stood out. It is supposed to be waterproof. Looks great and has a great price, so I ordered it. A couple days later, my contractor stops by and he sees the cover which just comes in the mail from Revain. He says, he has never seen anything like this and thinks he will buy these for future customers as it looks to be perfect. So, thumbs up from my contractor. So, you can see from my picture that I installed it a little different than the seller's Revain page shows. My air conditioner has a lip around the top and it just protected the inside of the unit better when I put it this way. So, here are my pros and cons.Pros:- Seems to be sturdy and does appear to be waterproof- Fits the top of my Air Conditioner unit perfectly.- The bungee cards at all 4 corners work great, attaching to the wire sides of my condenser unit. Very easy to attach and pull tight.- The green color looks great for you fashionistas.- The price is great when you look at the qualityCons:- NOTHING! I can't find any issues with this.Bottom line - Great value and great product. My air conditioner contractor is going to use this for his future customers. He was very impressed.
