I bought this for my 10 year old. The directions were mama so thought I'd share how I actually got the time to show up. Press and hold the MODE button (bottom left) for about 3 seconds. When the set alarm time starts flashing, press the MODE button again. The playback time seconds should now be flashing. Use the START/STOP button (top right) to switch between 10 items and the SPL/RESET button (bottom right) to change the item. They move between all elements and perform: seconds, minutes, hours, month, date, day of the week. Just press MODE when your settings are complete.
