I wear thick, heavy hiking boots all the time. As the terrain and landscape I find myself in daily changes, I need something comfortable with traction that I can rely on on rough terrain, gravel and all types of terrain and surfaces. As a photographer I've worn hiking boots for decades BUT now I feel like I should wear something more comfortable. These looked and "felt” comfortable. I tried them and liked them from the start. Outdoors it was a different story. The room was comfortable and no problems. I practically slipped out of my shoes and fell on various road surfaces. BUT I needed to be sure, so I wore them for a few more days. I've worn them indoors and outdoors, usually just on sidewalks and biking. No problems at all. Today, as I stormed out the door into the sunset, I put them on because it's quicker than lacing up heavy, bulky hiking boots. There was an error. When walking in the park-like setting next to the water, I had problems every time I lost my way. Carrying a heavy camera, I leave the path to walk across the grass, then through the bushes to get closer to the water. I practically trip over my loose shoes, and uneven surfaces were the worst. It's hard to balance almost off my feet in shoes, there's nothing within arm's length to hold on to, plus I'm on a very uneven surface made up of broken twigs, branches, and wet rocky surfaces AND I hold a camera . Not the fault of the shoes but my decision to buy something unsuitable for outdoor use. Of course I can't return them now as they have been worn every day since I arrived three weeks ago BUT I will only keep them as indoor shoes and will never wear them outside again. As I said, they fit well indoors, but use on the street and on uneven surfaces of different textures and textures is not suitable for me.
