Review on Sportime Sense Timer Minute Sand by Monty Barganier

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Much larger than I expected but works well

This is a good hourglass that seems to be very durable. It's a lot bigger than I expected (about 9 inches tall). I have another 5 minute timer (made of glass) that is about a third of the way up, so I was expecting something like this. However, it's very durable and feels like it could take a hit, which is what I need from it. [Original Rating 5/5] Edit: OK, so after working a little longer and trying to use it a few times, it turned out that this hourglass had a serious clogging problem. It freezes 1-3 times on every startup. I don't remember noticing this when I first got sick, so it may have gotten worse since then. If the sand gets stuck, it can be easily restarted by just tapping the top of the timer, but that messes up the time and defeats its purpose altogether. Since the timer now only runs successfully (without my intervention), I return it about 1 time in 10. Maybe they just sent me a defective product. If I decide to order another one I will post the results here. [Updated Rating 2/5] Edit 2: I ended up ordering a replacement to try again. I've tested this timer over 50 times and it only got stuck once. While this success rate isn't perfect, it's good enough for me, so I'll leave it at that. This is the only plastic 5 minute timer I've come across. [Updated Rating 3/5]
