I bought this external hard drive to back up my important files and specifically chose it because it needs to be shockproof, dustproof, etc. I travel a lot, so these qualities are important to me. However, after one flight it stopped working. I can't format it or do anything. So it's basically a very expensive pulp. Part of the problem is that the software that runs on the hard drive is internal, meaning it resides on an external hard drive and wasn't downloaded to run on my computer like I had an old external one. In addition, I found the software difficult to use and not at all intuitive. It took me some time to figure out how to copy files to an external drive, even with instructions and other reference materials. I didn't like that there was no automatic "Backup" button to back up my computer/files in one step. I had to go through and sync every single folder or file I wanted to keep on an external drive. In any case, I will not buy an external ADATA hard drive again. It was a waste of money and ended up being even more frustrating to use.
