Intended Use: Crohn's disease with severe anemia and B12/folic acid deficiency. Flavor: vanilla flavor is good, chocolate flavor: you usually get the taste. I'm not sure about other flavors, but I've heard that strawberry flavors are usually very easy to imitate. I have Crohn's disease so I drink them for the nutritional value. I've been taking them off and on since the 1980s. They will help you gain weight if you are looking for it. There is also one with extra protein. It works well but has a much coarser flavor. I will say the ingredients listed say "dairy free" but when my Crohn's is active my gut becomes even more inflamed and dairy does the same to me. So if they don't contain milk, they contain something very uncomfortable and hard on my digestion. Ingredient number one is high fructose corn syrup. This is not a healthy supplement. So enjoy with caution. Corn syrup is very harmful to people with certain medical conditions, so be aware of that before using it. I drink 2 of these syrups a day when my crones are fine as I have other health issues that require taking supplements. I recently found that despite using it I am deficient in iron, B12 and folic acid. And when I say low, I'll give you an example: My hemoglobin is currently 8.3 and my B12 is so low that I need injections every month. Then why do I have so many problems with my vitamin if they are packed with nutrients? levels? After all, the cost is outrageous. I got a prescription from my doctor and now my health insurance covers the costs. If you can, check if your insurance will cover the cost. The worst they can say is no. I gave this 3 stars because of the cost and the inexplicable reason why my nutritional levels are not better knowing I take supplements with them. Also because the taste takes a little getting used to, except for vanilla, which I think everything tastes good when it's vanilla. Overall, I recommend them, but with caution. If they help, great, keep taking them. But for those who don't see the benefits, the price doesn't justify it.
