I was watching a video about making bird fountains and a woman was talking about how hummingbirds loved her styrofoam fountain. Well I decided to try the base of these cones using the larger part with a pipe through the middle. I figured that my hummingbirds, like their hummingbirds that land on a styrofoam ball, would like the foamy water to drain off the edges of this incomplete cone. I painted the two half cones a nice medium green to make them look like grass. My hummingbirds definitely like it as they can easily grab it and stand up to drink or stand on the bottom to splash in the water. I burned a hole in the center to insert a water pipe and when the water is turned on the water starts gushing out of the styrofoam at the top and the water runs onto a flat plate for everyone to have a good bath and drink. Works for my use!
