Revainrating 4 out of 5

As other reviews say

I just bought another brand of 2-1/8" and 2-9/16" bits at my local Lowes store and got home to check the prices to compare at Revain. I've found this 7-bit kit to cost almost as much as I just paid for two bits at Lowes. As mentioned in other reviews, the photo shows a double edged design and the bits I received were a single edge product. The product I bought from Lowes was a 3 bit design and I used it to drill about 12-15 holes in double wood and then used the same size Dewalt to drill about 30 more holes. Here's what I'll say to compare the two bits: 1) A 3-flute router will not drill any faster than a 1-flute Dewalt, primarily because the drilling speed depends on the design of the pilot bit of the screw that runs through the wood and the strength of the used drill. I will say that Dewalt bits ran a lot hotter than Lowe's 3 cutter bits, so I'm willing to bet that a single cutter that does all the work will wear/dull faster than a 2-3 cutter - bit, and it seemed like my drill had to work a little harder with Dewalt bits, so I'd recommend a solid drill; I'm using a Dewalt DWD460K.2) The pilot tip of the propeller seems to be a little more recessed into the Lowes bit and/or the tip of the cutting edges protrudes further beyond the tool. Be that as it may, the Lowes bit completes the bit more completely, while the Dewalt bit finishes the bit to the point where the pilot protrudes from the back of the wood you're drilling, at which point you hit the bit need to press to drive it through. . Finished; When drilling 16" studs or OC beams, especially overhead, it can sometimes be quite difficult to find leverage or a place to slide the bit. Also, I can't compare this part of the review to any other product, but with the smaller bits, I've noticed that when drilling thick (>4") wood, the bit sometimes stops drilling and gets stuck in the wood, making it quite difficult to get out. In a floor/wall it doesn't matter, but when you're drilling through a piece of loose wood it can be a challenge to get it out without pressing the wood against something. What happens is that the wood chips don't match the smaller ones Bits can come out of the hole and get stuck in and around the bit effectively locking it in the hole Price aside I would give these Dewalt bits a 2.5-3 Star rating Considering the price would I give them 4-4.5 stars If you use these bits regularly I wouldn't recommend them If you are a weekend warrior and use them from time to time they are fine They will do their job but you just have to work a little harder.
