NOTE. This is my personal experience and I do not condone what I have done here to remove the RAM. If you're unsure about removing screens, either buy bare RAM or just don't buy it. When I first saw this product online I was really skeptical of how good it would look once I got my hands on it. My opinion changed as soon as I received the product and completed the installation (I'll go through the installation later). Of course, the heatsink after installation looked like it was G. Skill RGB RAM. The lighting is bright enough to illuminate your rig, and I recommend dimming the light bars to make these RGB kits stand out. In the kit I bought there is a remote control with settings for speed, preset backlight and brightness. As with the normal standard RGB remote control, there are also 12 static colors to choose from. Changing the lights is as easy as pointing the remote, provided you've removed the battery latch. If you don't need the light for any reason, you can also turn it off. TL,DR: YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ERROR. Use a heat gun to loosen the adhesive if you have RAM shields and pry it off with a handy tool. After that, check the RAM to see where the memory is so you can place the thermal pads correctly and then rinse and repeat for the other side/rest of your kit. Installation is a bit tricky. Remember that YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for your installation errors. Downgrading it a few stars for choosing a crude installation method yourself doesn't mean it's the manufacturer's fault. In my install case I referenced a YT video in my specific RAM which was a Corsair Vengeance DDR3. Use the heat gun, set it on high power, about 6 inches from the RAM and slowly move it side to side for only about 10 seconds. In my case, to remove the metal screen, I just used a thin flathead screwdriver and slowly pryed up the screen with enough force so you can hear the adhesive peeling off. I do NOT recommend using a screwdriver as it can damage it but since I was pretty sure I went straight ahead: After slowly and carefully removing the screen, place the RAM on top of the RGB screen without a thermal pad so that You can roughly determine where the memory modules are placed. Here you saw the memory modules resting during the test fit. Rinse quite a bit and then repeat for the other side of the shield. One last note, the kit I received didn't have a thermal pad so I ended up sent a message to the company to send me thermal pads but they sent 1 set. I have a thermal pad and an additional RGB screen.
