I bought, if I'm not mistaken, in the fall of 2022, for 49,000. I took, as a plus or minus, a universal width for a new camera (D810). Of the alternatives, I previously used Tamron SP AF 17-35 mm f / 2.8-4 Di on film Canon EOS-1V. What I want to say is that the lens is boring compared to the Tamron, in the sense that the picture has minimal distortion, almost completely absent vignette and high sharpness throughout the frame. These properties are a big plus for those who care about realism and uniformly high quality, but they will disappoint those who appreciate the "soulfulness" of imperfect lenses. Having run away from this 20 for two years, I donβt regret the money spent, this lens is on the camera, probably 90% of the time The D810 provides the ability to crop a picture quite painlessly. I dropped the lens a couple of times from a height of half a meter - the picture quality remained the same, there were no problems. Filmed in medium rain - also no problems. Glare does not catch (with the exception of direct aiming at the sun). For non-panoramic landscapes, it is narrow, I would prefer 17 mm and wider there (by the way, again, due to the almost completely absent distortions, the depth of the image in this genre is lost). I would recommend this lens to anyone looking for sharp wide-angle shots in almost any light and weather conditions. I donβt recommend the lens to those who care about the βlive pictureβ, it will disappoint you, take a better look at the aforementioned Tamron, itβs really much more interesting in this regard.
