I don't like this machine. A wide-mouth feeder is fine if what you're cutting fits all the way down the chute, leaving room for the slider. There is a safety feature that requires the trigger to be at least 1 inch inside the top of the feed tube before the machine will operate. That means what you cut has to be short. For example, a piece of cheese should be small. There is then about 1/4 inch of uncut product between the lid and the blade. There are parts of the pusher that are not accessible for cleaning, but they contain water that you cannot get out. All in all I wouldn't recommend it, I mostly just cut by hand to avoid disappointment.
