Review on Gold Line Electric Head Shaver: Ultimate Wet and Dry Bald Men's Razor - Waterproof and Rechargeable Grooming Kit by Tony Bennett

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Neat shave. Uncomfortable hand for face shaving. Not sure if 6 heads are better than 5

(Revain seems to have combined reviews of the silver and gold models so I'm showing photos of the retail boxes of both. The contents are the same and they work the same). First off, let me state that I am not bald and I will not be testing this for a bald shave. I am testing it as a face shaver. Like many of you reading this, I have been using cordless rotary shavers - mainly from Norelco - for decades. They always have three floating heads. I always thought there must be something magical about three heads because everyone imagines that :-) Well, here we have six heads. Six goals should be better than three, right? I have to say I wasn't convinced. I figured there must be a reason why big names don't use tails more. And after trying this razor, I think I know the answer. The answer is not like a shave. In fact, I was impressed with how well this shaver removed my facial stubble at the end of the day. It was comfortable and I could get into the nooks and crannies of my face and neck, as could my trusty Norelco. But – and this is important – the ergonomics of the shaving heads leave a lot to be desired. First, there is very little reservoir under the trimmer heads for shaved hair (see photo). That means you need/want to wash your hair (it will be dipped in water) after every shave. Second, the middle five's head doesn't show up. To remove it you have to unscrew it. It's a little uncomfortable — and there's even less room for hair under this head than under any other. A third problem with cutter heads is that there is no obvious way to replace them without simply replacing the entire shaving head assembly. . And it looks like it will cost you around $20. So let's hope these shaving heads last a long time. Includes:** Six head cordless shaver with LCD display showing remaining power** Quiet trimmer head** Hair trimmer head** Razor blade head** Face cleansing head** Protective packaging Shaver cover assembly **A pair of cheap length guides for the hair trimmer **Charging cable (requires USB-A -Power) Non-razor heads are a mixed bag. On the plus side, the nose trimmer works very well. This is in contrast to the nose hair trimmers that come with most clippers which are useless. The nose hair trimmer here works the same as the specific nose hair trimmer I used. A shaving head with a foil blade is fine, although I don't see the point if you have a rotating shaving head. On the other hand, the hair clipper is very bad - it works at low speed and struggles with a lot of hair. It's not very helpful. Facial cleansers are probably ok but I can't see myself using them. Overall I think this is a decent little kit useful for face shaving and nose hair removal. The rest of the attachments are not very useful in my opinion. While it shaves well out of the box, I am concerned that the shaving heads will dull over time and there is no clear way to replace them. Pros:** 6-head shaver does a good job on facial skin** Nose hair trimmer works well** Li-ion battery: 1.5 hour charge for 90 minutes of use** IPX-7, can be used in the shower Cons : **Oddly shaped razor doesn't feel very comfortable** Hair trimmer doesn't work well** Face brush heads not very important** Razor doesn't have much room for hair and needs to be cleaned after every shave** Medium razor Shaving heads allow for cleaning difficult to remove** No obvious way to replace shaving heads Shaving head - lifespan can be short** The sixth (middle) shaving head unit does not float like the outer heads. Please note that the same razor is sold under different names at Revain. Look at the price. The model number is LPX-8830. It is also sold as the LPX-8820. They are available under different brand names including 4D and Resuxi. The same manufacturer that makes this kit makes a 5 head razor. (And the attachments, including the shaving heads, are interchangeable between the two models). I prefer this razor because it feels much more comfortable in the hand. I didn't find adding a sixth head (like this one) had much value in terms of how fast or how well the razor could shave my face. And since the motor appears to be the same in the 5 and 6 head models, the sixth head means slightly less power for each of the heads.
