Bags are not thick at all and are made of very thin plastic. As you can see in the photo, my hand is clearly visible through the pocket. As an aside I have a 61 lb German Shepherd and their poop is by no means small and they hold on tight. I keep buying them because they are the only company that sells 90's for $3.90 and I've never had one open. they are not at all what is described. NO SMELL. Not at all, even if you open the packaging you don't smell the slightest bit. So if you buy them for the smell, don't waste your time. In terms of durability, unless you have a Mastiff, Great Dane, or other large breed, you'll need a full garbage bag to pick them up after they've done their job. I've carried these bags a full mile or so looking for a trash can on walks or camping trips and they've never broken or started smelling so bad it's unbearable. Overall no smell but a pretty solid value is the price.
