network engineer here.

I bought these lamps together with Kasa Smart Sockets. I have Unifi Access Points, three to be exact. All three access points use the same SSID for its devices. Kasa smart plugs and other IoT devices have no problem with this and work very well. Lightbulbs are a different story. You don't stay connected to the WiFi. While this might not affect most users, those with a fairly large home with multiple hotspots; Be prepared for constant power outages and the Alex/Google/Kasa app will let you know when the lights are off or unresponsive. I contacted Kasa technical support and after 2.5 hours they finally agreed to open a ticket and forwarded it to the technical department. A few days later I received a request to provide a packet capture from my network. I provided them promptly, but according to the Kasa engineer, they weren't detailed enough. I then provided packet captures directly from an AP that had four lights attached, and again Kasa found that this was not detailed enough. Her solution: I need an Apple MacBook to capture the detailed footage I need to proceed. Satisfactory Resolution: I've been back and forth with Kasa support for about two weeks at this point. I ended up broadcasting an SSID for these lights and increasing the transmit power at a specific access point to cover the areas where these lights are installed. It's not perfect, but it allows me to keep lightbulbs and smart plugs in the same app. I would like to point out that the $7.99 Philips WiFi bulbs I bought as a test didn't work that way and I had no problems connecting and connecting to my network for three days.
