Not sure about the whitening properties but gave 5 stars anyway because this mouthwash is great! It has all the right ingredients I was looking for when researching how to make the perfect DIY mouthwash. Instead of being a chore, this mouthwash packs it all together nicely at a reasonable price. Love the taste, have been using it for over a year and still love it. I've had all sorts of dental issues after using Listerine and Therabreath, but this has worked for me. I believe that the holy grail of any oral hygiene product is the opportunity to "remineralize" tooth enamel. Sounds like a philosopher's stone, too good to be true, but I think it worked for me. I love ice cream, but a few years ago I developed sensitive gums and teeth that caused occasional bouts of pain when trying to indulge, turning the experience into torture. A few months after using this mouthwash, I couldn't agonize over ice cream even after trying it. So now I can play confidently and without fear =)
