I use MPD-400 (LMR400) coax for all my radios - jumpers, antenna traces, HF, VHF, UHF - you name it. I have yet to come across a situation where the performance was unacceptable and the mounting and connectors were always on top. Yes, it's not cheap, but if you're going to buy a good radio and antenna and try to make good contact, why run a junk wire between them?
