I bought this part to mount on the dashboard of my 1975 Plymouth Duster. This has happened all too often when I was out driving or at a car dealership and couldn't charge my or a friend's phone. I also use the dashcam when driving and preferred to just use it rather than hardwiring the camera to the ignition. I like how it looks. I found the blue indicator light to be too bright to drive at night as it was aimed straight at me, but I solved this with a small piece of tape (I doubt the light would be a problem to others; in a marine application I would probably prefer the light to be visible). It installs easily and seems pretty solid (won't fall apart after the 10th time you plug something in. If you understand the basics of DC wiring you can't screw this up. USB charging works very well. Like that most people will look into marine applications in this case I can definitely recommend that the rubber plugs for both the USB and charging ports definitely keep water out and they come with rubber grommets to keep the water out of what you are in install them he told me i liked that will install it on my boat too.
