First of all I would like to say that I am definitely not a professional detler. I have a range of detailing products but only because I like clean cars. I've always been annoyed by scratches from wiper blades. I bought it to use on my Saab 9-3 windshield which had a lot of scratches. I don't know if it had to be blades, but the car was originally from Miami Beach, so it could have been sand. It was simply dangerous to drive at night because oncoming headlights would blind you so much that it was difficult to see the lines on the road. Water stains but nothing for scratches) Anyway after reading about it on some detail pages I decided to give it a try. I bought a 1 pound container which was too much. After doing the windshield I probably have 95% of it left. I had a bottle of plain water that I wanted to donate to mix this substance and then store it for future use. Worked great. Mixed with water in a ratio of 1:4. 1/4 cup cerium oxide and 1 cup water for easy measurement. When everything was mixed and ready to use, I sprayed it onto the windshield and started buffing. I set the polisher to speed 5. I worked on an area of 2 square feet at a time so the buff started to mist up and turned to dust before spattering more onto the windshield. It seemed to help. This is a slow and tedious process - it took me about 2 hours to be satisfied. After it got dark, I took a ride with it, and indeed it worked. Almost all scratches from the wipers have disappeared and the headlight glare is significantly reduced. There were a few spots that needed touching up, particularly right in the center of the windshield where the passenger side wiper stops raising the windshield and blocking the driver's side. The next day I did a second pass over the entire windshield and I would say 99.5% of the scratches were gone. There's a faint line where the passenger-side wiper stops almost perpendicular to the windshield, but considering it's 25 times cheaper than replacing the windshield, I'll settle for that. Please note: - This will create a huge mess. . After that you need to wash your car. Do not park other cars within 1.50 m of your workplace, otherwise you will have to wash those cars as well. He calms down quickly; Be sure to shake it up every time you spray it on your windshield. It seems to keep well for a long time when mixed with water. Take your time and make sure you get everything, especially where the wipers stop. Rain-X sits on your windshield and the rain practically sticks to it. You will definitely need to reapply Rain-X. It doesn't actually remove quarries. Small pits maybe, but he won't grind tiny, millimeter-deep rock chips. If you want to remove these, you will need a new windshield.
