Description of Kormoran Snow 215/55 R18 99 winter

Winter studless tires Kormoran SUV Snow are designed for modern crossovers and SUVs. The directional tread design, new tread compound and reinforced carcass construction give the SUV Snow a good set of features. The Kormoran SUV Snow tire is designed for predominantly driving on snow-covered and cleared city roads. The directional tread pattern has long and successfully proven itself as an effective tool on wet and snowy roads. Due to the increased area of the negative profile, the Kormoran SUV Snow tire effectively removes water and slush from the contact patch, preventing the occurrence of aquaplaning. The blocks of the central tread area, integrated into a continuous central rib, guarantee a high level of directional stability and precise steering responses during high-speed maneuvering. An increased number of multidirectional lamellas, acting as additional gripping faces, guarantees effective traction during acceleration and a short braking distance.

Perfect purchase for me, exactly what I was looking for!

Having skated for many seasons both on spikes (Cordiant Sno-Max, Nordman 5, Sava Eskimo Stud) and Velcro (Nordman RS) - I realized that 99% of the time in winter I drive in the city on asphalt. Wet, with reagents and snow, or generally dry in good weather. Accordingly, with the next choice of rubber for a new car - for crawling from a traffic light to a traffic light, the requirements for it were simple for me - smooth and quiet, sharpened more for asphalt. I decided to try this one on the…

Pros
  • - Price tag, especially for large sizes - Driving performance is suddenly much better than I expected - Smooth, balanced without problems - B -20 not oak
Cons
  • - In terms of noise - medium, nevertheless, a coarsely cut tread pattern makes itself felt. But quieter than thorns. - Thin sidewalls, while I would not say that it goes straight softly. Despite the 65 profile and the pressure is less than the standard one, there is still a feeling of slightly overinflated wheels, compared to the standard summer one. But all this can be attributed to the features of the noise and suspension of a particular car, or a particular size of rubber. I have 205/65 R16.

I am very happy with this purchase, I will advise everyone!

In the warm winter of 2022 in Hong Kong, they showed themselves perfectly. But for such warm winters, I would recommend tires with a less "evil" tread and a more resistant side

Pros
  • Beautiful tread design, quiet, economical (consumption increased by only 0.1 l in winter), inexpensive
Cons
  • Controllability in corners (rolling is felt), sometimes the “gear” effect is noticeable (very slight vibration of the z-z), weak sides (but even more expensive models sin with this), miracles did not happen on ice without spikes uphill - the grip is weak, but pulled out with slipping

Conclusion: at what price did I take it 4k in my dimension, at the time of writing the review it was already almost 8k - super! Moreover, I use it almost like an all-weather, because. I go in winter from minus 20 to plus 20, and for this it is just right. Now maybe China offers something interesting, you can search. And if you can't find it, you can take this one.

Pros
  • 225/55 R17 101V XL Serbia. Issue 4 quarter 20th year. I took 4k for a balloon. Fresh. In terms of softness, it is inferior to the "mother" - Michelin, Nokian, Bridges and even Nordman (I'm talking about those who have been driven more than 20,000 km). Pros: - price quality - minimum load during balancing (disks new SCAD) - after a year did not zadubela - aquaplaning, porridge - well, the breeches slid for example - snow too 4+ - they behave perfectly at +20 (I went to Abkhazia on NG, they only buzz a little when braking - asphalt), mountain serpentine (gravel road) - excellent - due to the wide tracks in the pattern, there is a hook + withstood cuts from stones, because high protector. There was also a super test on the "roads" of Bashkiria in May - its central part, where there are deaf villages and the directions of roads washed away after the flood (300 km). The grip is good too. - After the winter, minus 2 mm of tread, but there half the run was dry at +20 degrees - there were hard blows - there were no hernias, although the sides are soft - removes dirt well
Cons
  • Minuses: - ICE - just almost zero, comparing with the same hakkapelita, breeches, nordmans, bear (all Velcro ofk) - but this is a friction clutch, so we know what we take and how to behave.

One of the best offers, glad I bought it.

I am currently in my second year. A skid in the snow is the same as one on spikes. It's not tough to pull off a horrible deed; it just sort of...happens.

Pros
  • Common tires worked fine in the wet and snow. Quiet

When employing rubber, only pleasant feelings are experienced, and great road conditions are maintained when rowing. It is also good in the rain; the only difference is that the braking path is a little longer. On ice, it maintains a five-point lead over the competition. The tread pattern is FANTASTIC in quality!

Pros
  • Michelin's factories in Poland, Hungary, and Romania are responsible for producing Kormoran automobile tires. There really shouldn't be any room for doubt. 185/65/R15 - 2585 rub. for SKAT!
Cons
  • They simply do not exist at this pricing tier!

Still, it is better to choose with more frequent lamellas. My experiments are over with this manufacturer, I will try others. Pros below: In normal Hong Kong situations, it’s not bad at all (adequate snowfall, snow between rows, sleet) is not noisy. Its cons: In the heaviest snowfall (February 2022), deep snow completely failed, the Opel Astra J.

Perfect purchase for me, exactly what I was looking for!

For everyday street driving, I find the tires to be satisfactory. The price and the lack of a tank-like sensation on Nokian and Gislaved are major drawbacks. Over the past two decades, I've tried a wide variety of rubbers, and this one is on par with the most popular ones. However, after only two or three years of use, cheap tires' fundamental flaw becomes apparent: severe frost and microcracks on the tread. I would still go for something with a stronger sidewall if I were driving a huge…

Pros
  • Reasonably priced, manufactured by freedom-loving Serbs (not in China), and featuring a tried-and-true herringbone design with a noticeable tread height. Once more, the huge SUV lettering on the sidewall brings joy to the driver of the crossover. We tried it in Scandinavia, St. Petersburg, M11, and even the Rockies before setting out on our first season's journey, which was roughly 12 t. Km. Unlike the superficially nice but worn-out Michelin X ice, which he ditched, this one holds well, unexpected drifts and slips are not satisfied (speed up to 130 km/h). We rode to the dacha without incident on the snowy porridge. Even at -20 degrees, it didn't freeze (I pressed it with a screwdriver from above and there was no frost). There were some spikes and not spikes, but otherwise it was quiet.
Cons
  • Evidently the sidewall is not all very strong, and it's best not to complain about the curbs, as trash of any kind that could be easily sliced in half stays put. In any case, it's simple. While parking on bare ice is not ideal, it is not nearly as bad as it was on the old studded ice.

I drive a Kormoran, only in the summer, already the 2nd season, all the rules, no complaints, except for noise. I chose Velcro for two reasons: on the advice of friends, and before that I went with Velcro from another manufacturer. So I didn’t really want to switch to spikes, including because of the snowless winter last year, I rode on Velcro quite well and didn’t worry about the loss of spikes on the pavement) Rubber in the background in the photo))

Pros
  • Inexpensive Velcro, many friends recommended it to me. Grip with asphalt is even better than that of Kormoran's summer tires, and it's understandable why)
Cons
  • I would like less noise, when hitting new asphalt, it becomes much easier after driving on the old one) But for this you need to buy more expensive tires) In St. Petersburg, at the peak, I barely found it available.

The best thing for the money, Im glad I chose this option.

According to subjective feelings, in all respects it is better than the most publicized rubber we have, the cost is 2 times higher (the name is not correct to say). I think Kormoran is made by Michelin's daughter using parental technologies, reliable information and not a publicity stunt. Some pros: Low price for good quality. Excellent paddling in the snow. Quiet. Stable on slippery roads. Cons: Have not found. Not ideal on icy crust, but that can be said for any non-studded tire.

Valuable purchase, nothing but pluses!

With its pros: Good tires, not noisy, nice to ride. On the highway and in the city everything is ok Different cons: Not very durable, you need to drive carefully on the pits Not so good on ice.

Not at all what I expected.Terrible!

I bought a set for my wife on a VW POLO. The price was competitive and I liked the pattern. The first winter it somehow held and slowed down, although it was immediately noisy and tough (they dropped the pressure to 1.8 to make it softer). After 2-3 mm of the tread was worn out on ice or icy and hard snow, it stopped holding at all, from the word "absolutely". POLO from a place could not call in at the dacha on a small dump of hard snow with crust, 5-6 cm high, it just stood and skidded. After…

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Noisy, harsh. On ice or hard packed snow - just none. In soft snow and on crust, even light, it immediately skids and then burrows.

The best thing for the money, Im glad I chose this option.

235/45/18 front wheel drive. I ride for about a month, I found snow, rain, ice and dry weather in minus and plus. In general, I am satisfied with the rubber, there is a grip in the snow, if you don’t be too zealous, then there will be no demolitions. Someone wrote about the noise, not critical, it makes no more noise than any other cheap and expensive rubber. You can and should take it, the best alternative to Chinese crafts. Whoever says "China now knows how to do" China knew how and knows…

Pros
  • Price and quality from Brothers from Serbia
Cons
  • did not reveal

I really like the product, it fully meets my expectations.

The budget for tires was limited (up to 15 thousand), the choice was between the Chinese Triangle and Kormoran. I began to read reviews on the market, knowing that reviews can be cheated, I decided to ask the opinion of people who sold used ones. rubber on the site of free ads. (I immediately warned them that I would take a new one) One and all said that the rubber is good, not noisy and wear-resistant. I'll add a review after a year. Took Kormoran Snow 225/45 R17 94H for Skoda Octavia A7

Pros
  • 1) Price, 2) Durability, 3) Quiet
Cons
  • Haven't found it yet.

Revainrating 3 out of 5

There are a few bugs, basically the norm.

Good tires for the money (for a city with clean roads, similar in properties to the euro winter). Softness can be attributed to strange moments. On the one hand, it is soft, very small knocks pass very well, but it happens when it suddenly works out very similar bumps hard. Serbs under the control of Michelin so far I believe more than China. The second time I would not take it, I would add it and take something more wintery, also without spikes. Jaguar xf 235 55 17

Pros
  • Quiet, good steering response for this profile and winter tires. Good behavior on asphalt. Price! Balanced perfectly
Cons
  • Snow grip. ate after a real winter with porridge and drifts. The behavior here is not very bad, rather strange. It’s not bad here with side loads, but it slows down and accelerates badly. Moreover, it seems that it slows down worse. Apparently, at a low speed (20 and below), the tread is not cleared and it starts to slide. In front of the speed bumps, the ABS often works at the end (there is definitely no ice under the snow). Ice grip. This is expectedly bad. In general, it slows down and manages, but not always predictably, some stickies cling to the ice better (from those that were, for example, Pirelli). You have to be very careful when driving on ice. The sidewall is thin, you need to carefully attack the curbs and you should not climb into large stones either.

So, almost 4 months have passed since the purchase and installation of the rubber! Initially well balanced. During this time, there was dry asphalt, and rain, and snow, and slush, and ice. On all these surfaces, the rubber performed very well. It feels confident on asphalt, even a hint of aquaplaning in the rain, snow and slush is beyond praise, on ice, like all Velcro, it is a little uncertain, but predictable enough, unless of course you drive wisely. There were no cuts or punctures. In terms

Pros
  • This rubber is one big advantage!
Cons
  • Not found
