Recommended Buy

I bought the VMODA-XS (Matte Black) for myself as a birthday present and was a bit reluctant to buy them because of their size and they were also a bit pricey at $170. + Retail for compact design (I bought them at a sale price of $148), I really wasn't expecting much from these headphones but I would give them a try, I think I was also intrigued by the materials used in the design (Kevlar reinforces SpeakEasy mic control cable) and they claimed to have an "almost indestructible headband". I felt like I was buying something military. I've also read some bad reviews about the headphone design being snug in the ear, I had a Sennheiser PC 333D and had a similar problem with headphones feeling like your ears were closing and after 10 or 15 minutes my ears stopped on. burn and I would have to take them off. Rating: After months of use I can honestly say that these are some of the best headphones I have ever had. I'm on the phone in meetings most of the day and they sit after long hours with no pain, you can feel pressure where they press to grab your ear but there's no discomfort (must be memory foam). The sounds are excellent when listening to music and I find myself looking back when watching movies as the sounds are all around you. When you open the case, the first thing you see are nicely folded and positioned glossy black metal earbuds with soft ear tips. and what appears to be leather trim, and on the top of the case is a small orange Kevlar-coated headphone/mic cable loop. I also bought the VMODA Boom Pro Gaming Mic ($31) which is a great addition to the headphones and really turns them into a fully featured headset (the boom mic doesn't fit in the case). Pros: - Excellent noise isolation - Excellent high frequencies. , middle and bass, bass and treble look well balanced and have a great sound for it - noble design and very solid construction, the headphones fold very securely when opening, you can hear them well and firmly seated with the help not play at all - Good pads (memory foam pads) around the ear, they're good for hours of listening (my ears still don't hurt from wearing them for a long time) - Great hard case that attaches to your bags for easy access - Mic VMODA Boom is required when using Skype or other online chat applications. Cons: Haven't found them yet, maybe if you have an unusually large head you might run into some problems, but then you wouldn't buy them. I highly recommend these headphones and if you find your experience similar or different please share.
