Better than straps

Looks like this would work well for securing my bike to the back of our caravan. If desired, the binding can be blocked. I'll be using two of these in place of a typical tie down that one of the four broke during our recent 3,000 mile ride. Now I will use them together with the chain and hooks.

Neither surface is parallel

Obviously not properly curved, but both are identical so this is not a random issue. The two surfaces are never parallel, so the friction is greater than necessary and this can prevent them from staying firmly in place. The hole for the lock or pin is partially blocked by the frame. The rivets are painfully thin. Don't trust him with your life. It's the right size so I'll leave it on, but I spent some time using a vise and hammer to get the plates parallel and then tightened the rivets. Less…

Perfect for my needs!

I needed a way to secure my motorcycle chock so it wouldn't move while riding in my toy dump truck. My priority was not to drill holes in the floor for permanent attachment and I simply had to be removed. I have a Harbor Freight pillow that is unlike anything I've ever seen.
