Review on ALTRA Women's Grafton: The Ultimate Women's Footwear for Active Lifestyles by Ana Nguyen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

That would be a great hiking shoe

I was very excited about these shoes. My toes usually get crunchy after long hikes and I know my feet still hurt in regular shoes even when the sets/hikes are shorter. It's hard to find good zero fall shoes. The Grafton delivers zero drop with sensible shoes around it. It is very comfortable. And I know wearing it pays off with fewer knee and ankle injuries. Twisting your ankle is almost impossible. But: on steep/chosen/sandy terrain, my heel slips back into soft shoes and I have little grip. The wide toe is good, but it's too much for a rocky approach or climb. shoe movements. In addition, the front part is not flat, but has an upward shape, which makes ground contact and propulsion more difficult.
