Beautiful and simple tree stand

I love the simple design of this tree stand. It is well made and easy to assemble. The stand consists of four wooden legs, which look very simple and modern, and a metal shell to which the tree is attached. It comes in the white color that I received and in a stainless steel metal finish. There is a mandrel that you can use to center the pre-drilled wood in the cup. It's not very tall, as most of the support comes from four unusual nuts and bolts. The peg is only used to center the tree. There are four bolts with washers used to attach the four legs to the cup, as well as four unique bolts and nuts used to attach the tree. The unique screws are approximately 4" long with a flattened Y-end approximately 2" in diameter. This unusual end makes it very easy to tighten and loosen the screws even with the wood in place. The bolts also have unusual nuts that thread onto the end inside the cup. They are round and look a bit like wrench heads. They have one end wider than the other, grooved for better grip, and simply thread onto the end of each of the four long screws. One thing I've noticed about nuts is that they allow a long bolt to be screwed all the way into them. I'm not sure if this design was created to help secure the wood better or if it's just a by-product of the way it is. did, but I still thought it was worth mentioning. The instructions are clear enough but I think there could be some improvement. The stylized way they are drawn makes some of the steps less clear than they should be. Nothing that would interfere with assembling the stand, but trying to make the instructions universal meant that it was less clear. For example, the four supplied washers are not listed in the instructions drawn. In all honesty, these are rather small problems, all of which can be solved with a little tweaking of the instructions. There is nothing wrong with the components of this stand, it is well designed and looks good. I can't wait to use it for Christmas.
