The 24 inch Vizio TV I 'upgraded' to had unacceptably horrible sound. Greeting card in a cereal box! This little soundbar was the perfect upgrade. It is powered from the TV's USB port and connects to the TV's 3.5mm audio output for signal. In my application, I removed the rubber feet from the soundbar and attached them to the bottom of the TV with double-sided automotive tape. The sound quality is much better than you would expect from such a small and underpowered speaker. Music, voice, and sound effects are rendered with balanced clarity and plenty of volume, but don't expect concert hall performance. I always have the volume control on the soundbar set to full - changing the volume of the TV with the remote adjusts the volume of the sound coming from the soundbar accordingly.
