Review on Aircast Air Stirrup Ankle Support Brace by David Batte

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I love and hate this brace at the same time

I broke my ankle. My doctor wanted me to sleep in orthopedic boots but they were too uncomfortable. But I couldn't sleep without the corset either because my ankle hurt. It is much more comfortable to sleep in this orthosis or even wear it at home to take a break from orthopedic shoes. I love it because it's more comfortable than my boot. However, I am also annoyed by brackets. The position can shift slightly forward or backward, causing the plastic to press painfully on the sides of my ankles. Comfort also depends heavily on how the straps are positioned and tightened. Sometimes he feels great with good position and good stability of position. In other cases, it is very painful or moves into painful positions too easily. I spend a lot of time unzipping and tying to try to get it in the optimal position - not too loose, not too tight, perfectly positioned front and back.

Pros
  • The Aircast Air-Stirrup ankle brace resists twisting better than bonding with virtually no normal flexing
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
