Revainrating 5 out of 5

Friendly - EASY!

My mother gave me a project to scan her old photos (there are many). I bought and returned several scanners before receiving this one. It doesn't need to be connected to a computer, which makes working on a project a pleasure anywhere! However, I downloaded the drivers to my computer. First, I sorted the images by size to reduce the chance that one of them would be crooked. When I had a stack of about 50 or less I just put them in the feeder and hit the start button. One after the other breaks through. Took me 1/2 hour to get through the crate. NICE! The second step was naming the photos. I took a flash drive and put it in my laptop. I pulled up the images and using my software I was able to add tags and comments to the images. Then all I have to do is type a name in the "Search" field, and each image will appear with the name attached. I could then give that person a copy of the images while my images remain intact. EASY. Scans to JPEG, PDF, etc. Allows you to set the desired dpi. It also scans your documents and lets you search for documents using OCR software. My next project will be to scan all the documents in my filing cabinet and throw/shred them! Hooray!

Pros
  • SECURITY: The ADS 2700W provides secure access to the scanner with separate and specific scanning features including SSL, TLS, SFTP and lock settings. Daily load: 3000
Cons
  • A few little things
