This garland of garlands was exactly what I was hoping for from the description: long, USB powered and easy to control with a remote control. I bought this set with the intention of using it for a specific event (Narnia Day at my son's school where we used it along with birch branches to create "magical" ambient light) but at my home it was a hit because it's easy to put on everything and have fun changing with the remote control. Now he mostly lives in our reading corner, but in the last month he's been dragged from the campsite and all over the house. I looked for a USB powered cable because it gives us the most flexibility: if we install it near an outlet, I can use one of our many USB wall chargers to power it. If not, I can use one of our power banks (this is how it worked on the hike). Thing is, we don't need to know ahead of time what makes sense - for example, for the school decor, I took a small power adapter AND a wall charger because I wasn't sure where we were going to use it. and we ended up with the power supply. (Please note: no power bank/battery or wall charger is supplied. You will need your own. That's fine with me as we have plenty of both, but if you don't, make sure you plan buy before.) My only gripe is that the power end of the string is a relatively thick black wire (see attached picture). Considering the beautiful thin wire of the thread itself and the fact that the fairy garlands are tiny and flimsy, the power end sticks out like a sore thumb. I wish they had used clear or even white plastic instead. Of course you won't notice it in the dark, but for "atmospheric" daytime applications or if it's in a semi-permanent location where it's visible day and night, you'll either have to try to hide the black wire or use its limitations Life. (Of course, putting it on something like a black bookshelf might be an advantage for you, not a disadvantage.)
