Review on Set of 12 School Smart Paper Edger Scissors, 6-1/2 x 2-1/2 Inches Size, in Assorted Colors - 4 Packs by Carla Anderson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

This is a real advantage over buying the edging shears individually

I would give them 4.5 points and here's why. I was looking for a replacement for one of my favorite Fiskar bevelers. I found the replacement prices a bit steep so I looked up Revain to see what else was out there. Boy am I glad I did that. First, this set is a great price. There are 12 scissors in the set. Initially I thought that the Lazy Susan's oak storage shelf wasn't reputable, but I was wrong. It's really solid and my edgers are right next to my drafting table when I need them. One thing I noticed is that the scissors are a little tight when you first use them. I recommend trimming the paper a few times with your chosen edger before using it in your final project. I've found that a thick slurry like watercolor works best, but I'm sure repeatedly cutting printer paper folded in half does the same thing. There was also some oil on the blades which is used to protect blades in inventory. A quick wipe with a paper towel easily solves this problem. The hardest part of this kit is choosing which new edger you want to use in the current project. That's a good problem. I don't know how long these edgers will retain their sharpness, so I'll update this review if I get any adverse results as the shears age.

  • Easy to assemble
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
