Review on AUTOSAVER88 Clear Lens Headlight Assembly for Dodge Dakota 1997-2004 & Durango 98-03 - Replacement Headlamp by Jay Blo

A manufacturing defect that renders all parts in a batch unusable.

The headlights look good and despite a few issues I thought they would be an inexpensive solution to repairing my old oxidized headlight lens. Indicator glass and headlight glass were still pinned on one side. To change the bulb, you need to move the turn signal forward. The sprue or latch (I don't know which one) connecting the headlight lens and side reflector was blocking movement. It took a long time to understand this. I had to cut the lens and trim the firmware between the lenses. I finally assembled the headlight in Durango and installed the final mounting screws, but the turn signal wires are blocking the mounting hole. Complete disassembly. At the end, notice that the slots for the left and right turn signals have switched places. It appears that from the factory the injection mold inserts were set opposite to what was required. The company probably got the entire production run wrong. It won't be a problem if someone is unlucky and gets a bad role, everything will be like that. Instead of running wires in and out, they show and block mounting holes. The picture is not very good, but you can compare the original and this device. Wrong position of wide alignment slots. I completely ripped off the front end of my Daily Driver and the way forward is uncertain. I'm just writing this review and trying to figure out the options. Update: Retaining rings rescued from my original device. Cut out the locking tabs on the new block. Super glue, hot glue, zip ties and too many hours later the wires are pointing in the right direction. Everything was fine on the driver's side. The passenger side is wrong.
