The mounting arm itself is stable once installed. However, attaching the armrest to the headrest using the included tools and clamp method is no easy task. The ball-point hex key makes tightening the clamping mechanism much easier. I would have preferred to see some sort of quick release mechanism rather than 4 bolts. Another major issue I had with this product is that the included screw that holds the camera to the mount is not screwed in deep enough to securely lock the camera in place. On first use I noticed halfway through that the camera had fallen off and was recording my rear seats. If the threaded part were a bit longer or the shoulder was closer to the thread there would be no problems. All in all, once you've installed it and figured out a way to secure your camera, this is a solid mount.
