Review on Granite Gear Zipditty Zip Pouch by Danielle Simon

Great replacement for old heavy hiking organizers

They are great and keep you super light and well organized. for car camping and sometimes backpacking, who often choose to zip things up rather than to save weight. While the old ones held up well and were easy to use, they were heavy and picked up musky smells over time. Zippers are fine but accessing the items inside is not that easy when camping, often you just throw away the contents and refill. I prefer better organization than this. So enter the new world of Force nylon. I love these things, over a decade ago I replaced all my panniers with silicone and nylon bags, no sticky PU coatings or smelly bags. I've been looking for replacements for my old organizers for a while and found a link to them in a backpacking gear review. I decided to experiment with the price. The bags are very light, in fact the tag on the bag is quite heavy and cutting it off makes it noticeably lighter. They are great for kitchen utensils (folding spatula, small oil bottle, etc.) and are also great for dental and personal items. The zips are easy to use and while not waterproof they keep spills out of the bins inside (I tested this with an open Listerine travel bottle to see if water would drip but it didn't) . I prefer to use these pockets rather than messing around with zippers. They have more volume than I thought when I looked at them. I thought I had to use the big ones but I finished filling them in and the big one is still not being used. They are very pleasant to use, lie well in the hand and allow things to be found and stowed without a shelf.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Good but not great
