Most of these bright lamps are very wide and tall. This bulb is almost an inch shorter than most on the market and also half the size of most on the market, making it a better fit for larger fixtures. Just don't confuse it with a lightbulb, which you can put in a table lamp because it won't fit in a lampshade, but again that's not their purpose as they're intended for areas that require significant lighting. This bulb is said to be 600 watts but is more like a 350 but still very bright and smaller to fit better. However, this is most likely due to this top flashlight's 360-degree design, rather than the traditional unidirectional design that's useful when you're pointing straight down. The first lamp that ran 12 hours a day only lasted 3 months, but I think the lamp just doesn't work well in a daytime temperature of 30 degrees, which probably shortens its lifespan. I've used another brand that lasted a full 12 months out in the cold but nothing lasted as long as the old spiral fluorescent tubes that lasted 4 years each. So take that into account for the area you need them for and how affordable they are. I would give this product 5 stars if it lasted a full year in low temperatures like my previous brand, but it doesn't.
