Literally collapsed in my ear! The earring fell off the rod while still in my ear! Since the holes in my earrings are very small due to wearing a lot of small real earrings or very light fishing hooks, I couldn't easily pull them out by grabbing the back. My mom had to use tweezers to grab the tiny crusty end that was barely there and hold it while she tried to pull the backing off to show we could pull the rod out. The backing was rubber which sent you the package. It still took a few painful minutes, but we got through it. My dad checked the rest of the earrings and wiggled the pillar to see if they were loose. Just saying the only thing that didn't go in the trash was a small rubber backed bag.
