These patches work great - with a few tricks

Great product. Very good for cystic acne. Perhaps this is a sermon to the choir, but my advice on using these patches would be: 1. Open the patches with a sterilized needle (isopropanol/isopropyl alcohol works well)2. Make sure the skin is not oily3. Apply Patch4. If you use it at night, put some tape on it to keep the patch in place. I use microporous tape. An added benefit is that it forms a tight seal and helps drain more pus. If you want to go outside with a band-aid, put a band-aid over it (budget option) or cut a thin Convatec DuoDERM Extra Thin dressing over it. (Convatec is also good at protecting fingers from mosquito bites). Again, the band-aid will help stay in place, creating a tight seal and hiding the slime stain.6. If you are removing a small stain or just want to stretch the bag, use clean scissors to cut the patches in halves or quarters. Top tip: Keep the loose plastic wrap that comes with the kit between the scissors and the patches to keep the ends from tangling. Also, the cut pieces don't stick to the skin that well, so be sure to tape them in place. I find this trick works well when I just want to leave a patch on for a while before going somewhere, or when I'm trying to promote scar-free healing in an area where normal skin hasn't fully grown.
