I switched to these from the old valve stems I used to start with. Yes, I used valve stems from old tubes when I went tubeless. I was impatient and it worked before. Stan sealed them, slipped them in with no problem. But like old whistles, the legs have come out over time, just like mine. They are a great substitute and probably should have been used from the start. I like the lock nut that you get on other stems that have a built in flange for the o-ring in the nut. It would be a nice addition, but they still worked well.
