No ballast issues. They work perfectly and fit seamlessly where the old magnetic ones were. Slightly slower but nice and bright. Works much harder. Shipping was slower (over 1 week) than I usually see as we are at a major transport hub. The ballasts were wrapped in bubble wrap but then placed in a crate with plenty of room where they tumbled around in transit. It's not that difficult to do, but then they didn't fit into the mounting slots in the bracket. Pretty minor, but problems can easily be avoided with a little more bubble wrap or crumpled paper.
