Good workmanship, low SWR. when the antenna is extended

The antenna looks pretty solid, strong and flexible, but when transmitting you need to lengthen the pin. Cross-checking with a VNA and a Bird wattmeter shows that the return loss/SWR on both bands is fairly low (&lt;2:1) with the pin extended, but terrible (&gt;6:1) with the pin retracted. If you extend the pin about 75%, the match is almost perfect on UHF, extend it all the way to VHF. Just for your information.
