    Expand, but not much better.

Does it work? yes extended? yes, well built? Maybe. SWR is not great at 70cm and 2m in both folded and unfolded. It's ok as a gimmick, but I wouldn't use it on a main unit, just for a glove box antenna or for use with a scanner.

    excellent military band antenna

is the antenna I use when monitoring the military band (252-379MHz). Pull out the thin part a few inches and it works great. With the Uniden bc125at you can hear air traffic from miles away. I keep several of these for backups. It makes no sense to spend a lot of money on a branded antenna. Hope this helps, give me a like if you enjoyed this review.

    Excellent quality would buy again

I wrote a good review but apparently the special snowflakes at Revain felt a bit tactless when it came to saying nice things over the antenna? Pretty funny. I would buy this antenna again, it is of very good quality. A NOTICE. I don't get any 800mhz channels with it at all, but it's great as the UHF/VHF antenna is advertised. As expected, reception on these bands is very good

    Cons

Good workmanship, low SWR. when the antenna is extended

The antenna looks pretty solid, strong and flexible, but when transmitting you need to lengthen the pin. Cross-checking with a VNA and a Bird wattmeter shows that the return loss/SWR on both bands is fairly low (<2:1) with the pin extended, but terrible (>6:1) with the pin retracted. If you extend the pin about 75%, the match is almost perfect on UHF, extend it all the way to VHF. Just for your information.

    • Lots of positive emotions
    Cons
    • No power

    Universal antenna

I need to update my review and mention where appropriate. After further testing, it turned out that this antenna was fine. It doesn't have as low an SWR as other antennas, but it has a more versatile appeal. The SWR seems acceptable when it's retracted or extended, so I'll broadcast either way. The build appears to be very similar to the HYS 771N, although the SWR is slightly higher. I would say that at the moment it makes the versatility attractive. Antenna.

    Great antenna EDC HT

Very amazing little antenna. The main part of the antenna is like a rigid spring. It folds very easily and returns to a vertical position. An extension is a rigid wire that, like a spring, returns to a straight wire after bending. The result is a very forgiving antenna for EDC. I use it mostly compact for monitoring. It works well as a compact receiving antenna. I tug on the transmission extension and it performs just as well as any 15 inch whip. I plan to use it as a standard HT antenna.

    Excellent dual band telescopic antenna!

Bought one of these for a 1980's Yaesu FT-530 dual band HT. Nice BNC connector and well made. Ideal 8 inches for everyday use. Bonus, if you want 14 inches, gently pull on the top of the antenna and the 6 "thin wire" will slide out of the center of the antenna. Works very well for its price. Better to get 2 meter and 440 trans than some of my $25-$35 Diamond, Comet etc. So impressed with the performance and telescope design I bought 2 more to stay away. I paid $39 for a Diamond BNC metal…
