In the last six weeks I have used three brands of kinesiology tape: KT Tape Pro, Rock Tape and Kinesio Tex Gold. Each of these products has strengths and weaknesses. KT Tape Pro is the easiest to apply as it is pre-perforated into convenient lengths that are easy to remove from the roll. Unfortunately, the KT Tape Pro adhesive was the least satisfactory and usually peels off prematurely. Kinesio Tex Gold does not come pre-cut, but the backing sheet on the back of the tape is marked for a manageable length, making it fairly easy to cut the strips if needed. Its adhesive was very satisfactory, usually holding so well that I had a bit of trouble removing any residue of adhesive left on my skin after tearing off the tape. Stone tape also has satisfactory tack, but it is not pre-perforated and there is no mark on the back of the tape. So it was the most difficult tape to apply. While none of these tapes are perfect, I prefer Kinesio Tex Gold because it sticks well and is fairly easy to cut to the desired length.
