Yes they are expensive for socks. Yes, they are a bit soft. They must not be put on hastily, otherwise the seams will tear. BUT they work. I needed very thin but warm socks to fit my ski boots that I bought on sale. The boots could have been bigger but they were sooooo cheap and the last pair so I just had to buy them. Normal ski socks were not possible with these shoes, but they fit fine with thin socks. So I spent a lot of money and bought them and a pair of very thin thermal silk socks. It helps. My piglets have never been cold. Even these thermal silk socks are much thinner than typical wool ski socks (or the two pairs of regular socks I used to wear). Anyway, be nice to them and they will be nice to you. I have women's shoe size 8.5, I ordered a medium size and they fit perfectly.
