This co-sleeper comes vacuum packed and is almost completely flat. I tried beating it with my hand but it still wasn't fluffy and firm so I threw it in the dryer. It was definitely an improvement, but it's still not as firmly padded as I was hoping. I have ordered several different sleepers from Revain to compare and others I have ordered are better than this one. The mattress seems quite comfortable, but the sides are quite soft and don't protrude very much. This product also comes with a pillow designed to prevent your baby from developing a flat head. Pillows are definitely not Safe Sleep and Co-Sleeping approved, so use them at your own risk and only under supervision.
