I bought this for several good reasons and it has so many uses. I can connect my phone to the router with an ethernet cable for router maintenance which I need a laptop for. Also, the HDMI port allows me to stream Crunchyroll and Hulu to my own phone without logging out of my hotel account while traveling (Also, some hotels don't offer these streaming services, just a regular Smart TV with an HDMI port. Although last time I used it in a hotel it didn't work and I found out why some hotels don't allow you to connect these devices for various reasons but there is a way around it, be careful there You may be charged an intervention fee with hotel room electronics.Also it has two USB 3.0 ports so you can also use it as an OTG cable to transfer data or connect a keyboard/mouse to your phone.Most phones these days have via USB-C, so be careful if you have something like iPhone or Micro-USB technology.
