We have tried many cloth diapers, each has its pros and cons, there is no perfect system but Charlie Banana is definitely at the top of the list. The biggest advantage is that it's fully adjustable - you don't have to buy a new size every time your child grows. Also, this is the only suit I know of that wraps around the legs, which is very important. My biggest concern is that the fleece (synthetic fiber) touches the skin. Modern fleece is usually made from polyethylene and regardless of the brand, there is a chemical process to create it. Blood tests show that the skin absorbs some of these chemicals. I prefer natural fibers like bamboo or organic cotton. If this bothers you, use natural fiber nappy liners or disposable liners so the synthetic fibers don't come into contact with your baby's skin. Otherwise, I really like the design. People complained about its wear and tear. Whatever you wear every day, all day wears out. These are excellent materials, they are not inferior in quality, they hold up just as well as anything else. I know the price seems high and part of that is because you are paying for a well known brand. But you can get by with 6 diapers and pads and save money in no time. Air drying them makes them last longer. I know it's not always possible, but it's best not to heat them. Some strategies with this or any cloth diaper: If you're concerned about urine leakage, especially at night, add a diaper liner (OsoCozy or similar). They are very affordable, very thin so they don't add bulk and actually add 20-30% more absorbency to any diaper system. I found the bamboo species to be the softest. If you're worried about a poo mess, use disposable diapers in anticipation of poo (we're pretty good at predicting poo, helps if baby is regular). or use a diaper liner again. The diaper catches most (not all) of the poop and reduces mess. You can also buy a plastic diaper bag for this or any other diaper system. They are inexpensive and help contain leaks (especially at night). Even if you use the cloth during the day and dispose of it at night, you still save a lot of money and environmental waste.
