Review on πŸ“± STM Dux Plus Duo iPad Air 3rd Gen/Pro 10.5 Case - Midnight Blue (stm-222-236JV-03) by Charles Osguthorpe

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I'm sure it will take a long time.

I had the STM case with my iPad mini 2 for 2 years and it served me well until the 5th year of using the mini I encountered serious errors related to the auto lock feature which made me inevitable prompted to upgrade to the Mini 5. My previous case had a small deterioration of the outer layer but overall it has held up well. As you know, the new 5th gen case has an Apple Pencil slot, which I think is neat. However, since this has changed the position of the iPad, the center of gravity has shifted somewhat and it is now difficult to place the case on sloping surfaces, which is a bit annoying and takes some getting used to, but by no means a disadvantage. I'm not a big fan of the original texture of the inner fabric, other than that it will pick up grease and dust over the years, but I know I'll get used to it over time. I had no problems getting the iPad into the case, other than the fact that it's a little difficult to mount. The fit is solid and all buttons work. I prefer the all in one option rather than buying the Otterbox plus smart cover.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Factor set
