This remote 'really works' but the steps required to make it work are frustrating to say the least. It worked to control my stick right out of the box, but when it came to turning off my Vizio TV and fiddling with the volume knob, it was a headache. This remote is universal, it doesn't look like the one in the Firestick box. Now on your new firestick remote: press and hold the power button and volume up button for 3 seconds, the light on your remote will be solid, now point the firestick remote at your TV remote, now tap on the firestick remote control on the button. you want to learn, the light on the Firestick Remote should now be flashing. Now press the button on the TV remote that corresponds to the button you want your Firestick to learn. I know it sounds like a lot but it works, even after figuring out how to do it took me more practice. Another tidbit, you can unlearn the remote by holding vol- and pg- simultaneously for 3 seconds and you can start over, I had to do it once. GL!
