I don't like choking my dog but these leashes are good for a quick late night potty visit and safety. I don't leave my dog collared for several reasons. But when we go potty at night, a quick fix is to let her out and protect her. She saw a skunk one night, and that was before I got this lead. Well, that won't happen again! From now on she will EVEN WALK INTO OUR LIMITED BACKYARD with this leash so there will never be another skunk attack. The leash is long enough to give her a little extra room to do her business, but she won't be able to chase down a skunk or other nasty little rascal who decides to invade the backyard. Just make sure you put your hand through the loop at the other end. It's well made and will last. (Unless your dog is rocking you and taking you for a walk). I love how quickly I can put the leash on and let the dog out. Erasure happens just as quickly when we go back inside.
