Lasted for 9 months - A motivated chewer can break!

We bought this in February when we adopted our puppy. We used it all this time to let him play in the front yard while we did yard work etc. there. He was about 8 lbs when we got him, and he’s now 19. We’ve been very pleased with the product, and how well it stays in the grass.Today he finally succeeded in chewing through it. So I still think this is a good product. Just know that a motivated chewer will eventually beat this cable!

Pros
  • Easy to use and durable!
Cons
  • Snapped off at the base off the handle screwing it into the ground, do not waste your time.

Not for small dogs in my review

I have a corgi pup. Thought this would be nice for her to run around with in the backyard but the latch on the cable cord is huge. The latch is made for large breeds. It weighs down her neck so I will be ordering a new one with a smaller latch. The stake is great and sturdy. Just the cable cord should be advertised for large breeds.

Pros
  • My pet, who is a runner is very content on line. Loves to be outside with me when I’m gardening.
Cons
  • The pole is sturdy but the cable was only 8 feet not 16

Use this for my cat

Use this for my cat and I love it! Use it with his harness and he can explore our backyard without me worrying! Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Helps ensure that your dog does not get lost or injured wandering around unattended
Cons
  • The cable may become knotted during storage, leading to frustration during set-up

Does its job, buut…

I bought two of these for our dogs since we don't have a fenced in yard. They do their job; however, within a couple days my GSD bent his rod. Also, the open triangle on the rod allows the tether get wrapped up and tangled around the triangle, which causes the leash to shorten.

Pros
  • This is a great product it really holds up and is safe and my dog adapted quick to it
Cons
  • Easy to use, and seems to be sturdy. Rusted quickly.

Great item good for me

This item is great for keeping our 10 pound Maltese in a safe area of our yard while we are working in our garden or doing other out door chores. She can roam a bit but not escape.

Pros
  • Perfect! Easy to assemble and stick in the ground. This holds back my 35 lb (very strong) dog great.
Cons
  • The reflective coating may peel off, creating a mess in the yard

Just as expected. Durable.

The stake is long and takes effort to get it all the way into the ground. But very sturdy and well worth the purchase. That's my feedback.

Pros
  • Ideal for pet owners who live in apartments or who lack fenced yards
Cons
  • The stake may be too shallow in loose soil, leading to potential escape for the dog

A must have! for my opinion

I purchased this for a trip I took my dog on. He tends to run away when he isn’t on a leash, this was perfect and sturdy. It was long enough for him to be in the mix with everyone else.

Pros
  • Better than tying your dog to a tree, as you can control the length of the tie-out
Cons
  • The reflective coating may become scratched or damaged during outdoor activities

Rusts after time - my new review

I purchased this for my 15 pound Chihuahua and it works great. Unfortunately it started rusting within the first few months

Pros
  • Cable is rust-resistant, ensuring it lasts through harsh weather conditions
Cons
  • The cable may become too hot or too cold to the touch in extreme weather conditions

Works Well - my new review

Absolutely perfect, for our situation. We are full-time RVers, perpetually travelling the USA. When we stay in campgrounds, it's important that our dog be restrained, but able to enjoy the area around our RV. The dog stake is easy to install and remove, but strong enough not to become lose.

Pros
  • Can be used to train your dog to stay within a designated area
Cons
  • The reflective coating may become dull or discolored over time, reducing visibility

Best Camping Cable on my review.

Our dogs didn't mind these lightweight cables at all. At one point, one of our dogs ran after a critter, and this cable stopped her in her tracks. These are convenient and sturdy, highly recommend.

Pros
  • Allows your dog to enjoy outdoor activities while being safely secured
Cons
  • The cable may become frayed at the ends, creating a potential hazard for the dog

Kept the doggo close by while camping.

This was sturdy and easy to install. We were able to leave our 55 pound dog alone on the campsite for a bike ride without worrying he'd break loose. Worked perfect.

Pros
  • Perfect for my needs
Cons
  • The cable is not chew-proof, which poses a safety risk for dogs who like to chew

Dog security - my new review

Solid metal stake & leash. Use when in garden & do not want to worry where dog has wandered off to.Must have stake in solid ground.

Pros
  • Great price and works great for my 50 pound doodle
Cons
  • Steak bent after a few weeks, my dog is only 60 lbs. it’s a great product if your dog isn’t active!

Perfect for my elderly dog

This has been such a blessing for my senior girl. As she's gotten older, she enjoys sunbathing more and more. Our current home does not have a fence, and my mom recommended this item! She used something like this for her off-the-wall basenji many many years ago.I can't speak on it's durability for dogs with the energy of a basenji, but this lets my dog sleep and smell and sunbathe for as long as she wants. And I no longer have to sit by the window and watch her. Great product.

Pros
  • Stake features a sturdy loop for attaching the cable
Cons
  • The stake may become corroded over time, leading to damage to the surrounding soil

Bent steak. Don’t waste your time or money.

Bought the 125lb size for my 80lb dog. This was working great for the first 4 weeks we used it. Then with my dog’s first big pull trying to chase after something, the stake bent and now it won’t hold her back at all. Such a waste of money and bad product. I hope I can get a return, because it just passed the return window.

Pros
  • Perfect for my big dogs!
Cons
  • The reflective stake can be easily knocked over by curious dogs

Surprised by it's Quality

Considering the price, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the item, especially with the chroming process. In addition, the leash itself is void of any sharp edges that could create an issue. One thing to note.the attachment clips are a little oversized for my dog who weighs 12 lbs. All in all, I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Pros
  • Training & Behavior Aids
Cons
  • The cable may become twisted during use, creating discomfort for the dog

Foster puppies who need a little more space to run

We foster puppies and we only have a little fence around our back patio to let them out without a lead. We bought two of these for when we are out gardening or sitting in the yard so that the puppy can have a little more space to run. Definitely keep an eye on them while using it as one of the puppies slipped out of their collar and got to explore a little further before we realized he was off. We have moved it around several spots in our big yard.

Pros
  • Just what we needed for our dog and he can’t chew through it
Cons
  • The cable may get caught on low-hanging branches, posing a danger to the dog

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very sturdy/bit of a rusting issue

Great product! Serves its purpose, light weight but very sturdy. I’m giving it 4 stars because I kept it outside for 2 weeks staked in the ground and it began to rust.If you want to keep it staked in a particular spot outside for an extended period of time, perhaps look for a specific outdoor product.

Pros
  • Provides your dog with the freedom to roam without running away
Cons
  • The cable may become brittle over time, leading to potential breakage

Metal is not strong. Otherwise design does the trick

My dog is about 70ish lbs. He did one running lunge when I left for a minute. Upon removal I discovered that it bent the metal pretty well. Otherwise, in silty lakeside soil it was sturdy enough to not be pulled out

Pros
  • Strong and durable 16ft cable can withstand the weight of dogs up to 125lbs
Cons
  • The stake may become covered in dirt and debris over time, reducing visibility

Metal shards in my thumb 😁😁😁

Buy these if you love a lightweight, cheap tie out for your dog. The stake itself, great where can you really go wrong with a metal stake. But the tie out, you’re better off using literally anything else. These were put out for one day, the clip wore out the plastic, so there were exposed wires, love that for me, and of course didn’t see these so now I have teeny tiny bits of metal under my thumb. It’s such a good feeling to have metal under your thumb. And don’t try me with the ‘well if’s…

Pros
  • It came on time just as they said. It works great for our man eating chihuahua.
Cons
  • The cable may rust over time, creating a potential hazard

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well but some mild rusting

This works well for our 8 lb mini dachshund. If we want to give her some freedom in our non-fenced in yard this is a great option. After several months of use it has gotten some slight rusting around some of the joints. The cord and material seem like a very sturdy metal material for our small dog’s needs.

Pros
  • Great option for pet owners who need to keep their dogs secured outdoors
Cons
  • The reflective coating may peel or flake off during extreme weather conditions
