I bought 12 pack (8 green and 4 white) to mount on a swim platform on the back of a boat for night fishing or swimming. The headlights themselves are cast aluminum and the LEDs appear to be of good quality. The rubber feet that came with the kit leave a lot to be desired and I ended up not using them, just fitting them flush with some 3M 4200 sealant between them to prevent water from entering the boat where the wire runs through the hull. They are used below the waterline so heat from the lights should not be an issue. If you've used them above the waterline you can use rubber mounts as they look like they were designed to allow airflow under the light to dissipate heat. The lights are fairly bright but not as bright as expected based on the Lumin rating they have. I originally planned to only use 4 green and 4 white colors based on the advertised performance of the Lumin, but when I installed them they weren't bright enough so I settled on 8 green and 4 white. White is about twice as bright as green. I put them on separate cups so I can use the white ones for night swimming and the green ones for night fishing (green light attracts fish better). The nice thing is when I put on white and green at the same time it creates a black light effect that illuminates the mono line and also makes the bait glow which not only looks cool but also energises. The fish are crazy! These bulbs don't seem to draw much power as with all 12 on I can use them for hours and hardly notice any voltage changes on my deep cycle battery! Hopefully they'll stay waterproof and last more than a season, but for the price you can't go wrong! The only real complaints I have are that the wires are very short and can be about twice as long, also the hardware they come with appears to be chrome plated rather than stainless steel making them unsuitable for marine applications ! Overall it looks like a quality product at a great price!
