Fasteners work well initially. They fit snugly in the air vents and the magnet sticks well to the included metal plate that attaches to the phone. However, when the defroster was on, some of the heat was also vented through the standard vents. This heat caused the metal plate to come loose and eventually the phone to fall off while driving. I replaced the phone case with one that had a metal disc built into the back. It seemed to work, although the magnet didn't stick to the metal plate built into the case. The design wasn't as fit for purpose as the plates that came with the mount. It worked well enough until it stopped. Eventually the heat worked with the rubber grip which immediately stuck to the mount and the mount's tight fit to the vent eventually went away. It only took 3 weeks from start to finish and it's not like driving the same car every day.
